Ingenuity. Innovation. Achievement.
The Covid-19 pandemic has perhaps brought the automotive industry to a pivotal moment, when operators and motorists decide that there has to be an end to ICE powered vehicles and put pressure on manufacturers to accelerate their rate of product change-over and on charging network providers to up their game on installation and charging.
With a laser-like focus, the new Electric Vehicle Awards will concentrate on the electric vehicle sector only, including any AFVs that use their fuel to generate electric power, as well as e-motorcycles, e-bikes and electrically powered working vehicles (warehouse, farm, factory, etc.). But there will also be recognition of the developments in vehicle charging infrastructure and equipment.
The Awards will seek out ingenuity, innovation and achievement and bring together the talents of a highly expert panel of impartial judges to scrutinise entries and award marks against clear judging criteria.
The closing date for entries is September 30, but as the eligibility period covers a full 18 months from April 1, 2019 – September 30, 2020, we know that many companies will have documents and images, already, that will allow them to begin to submit entries well before the closing date.
A date of January 29, 2021 has been set for a lunchtime announcement of the Award winners, but we will be guided by the Covid-19 restrictions in place as to whether we run a physical event, or stream the presentation online.
An awards competition is only as good as the entries received, however, and the Electric Vehicle Awards want to encourage the broadest possible range of entries from across the industry in the UK.
